We are a flagship program of the Fakultas Pendidikan Seni dan Desain at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, based on Surat Tugas Number: B-26224IN40.A8/KP.09.A0 D023 issued by Dean Prof. Dr. phil. Yudi Sukmayadi, M.Pd. for the year 2023, and Surat Tugas Number: 1526/UN40.A8/KP/2024, which serves as the foundation for the establishment of the Music UPI Records flagship program management team for 2024.
According to this legal basis, we receive funding from the faculty to cover subscription fees to the aggregator DistroKid for 50 artists. In 2021 and 2022, this budget was sourced from the RKAT of the Program Studi Musik. While this funding primarily facilitates the publication of music creators within the UPI environment, we hope to expand in the future to support production processes, branding, marketing, and increase streaming numbers. This will enable us to generate income (IGU) that benefits both the institution and the financial well-being of the artists involved.
Talent to Release
Where We Stand?
Musik UPI Records is a music publication service that utilizes a subscription feature as a label through the aggregator DistroKid. Currently, we search for and collect musical talents or songwriting talents to be used as material for our music publications. However, we have been unable to assist in the music production process because our budget is limited to subscriptions only. Therefore, we only accept high-quality WAV audio master assets ready for direct submission to DistroKid. All campus facilities we have provided can be used and fully utilized by all talents. We also provide arrangement and music production services if needed by the talents, which are individual and can be assisted by our students. There are no charges for talents for music publication, as we bridge the talents to publish their works for free with all the facilities provided by the faculty and university. Our current position is limited to being a label that submits works to DistroKid and bridges the talents to publish their works for free.

For Students, Faculty, and Alumni
Musik UPI Records is a music label operating within Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, aimed at facilitating music publication for the entire academic community of UPI. Our services are open to various stakeholders, including active students who can release their musical works as creative expressions or final projects, as well as faculty members wishing to publish their musical compositions as a reflection of their expertise, teaching materials, or research outcomes. Educational staff can also join as talents if they possess musical works, while UPI alumni are encouraged to publish their creations to strengthen ties with the university and foster mutually beneficial collaborations. Through this initiative, Musik UPI Records is committed to serving as a bridge for the UPI academic community in realizing and effectively publishing their musical works.

Currently, Musik UPI Records is managed by a team we have entrusted as the Artist and Repertoire division, consisting of Gilang Rahdianando and Rollof Jons, active students from the Music Program of the 2021 cohort.
